Pricing
Why does Lucid Windows publish all prices upfront?
Because it’s the most honest, customer‑first way to book a window clean. You see your exact price instantly — no quotes, no waiting, no hidden extras.

Most cleaners hide their prices. We do the opposite. Our fixed price list means every customer pays the same fair, consistent rate — no negotiation, no surprises, no awkward conversations.

This transparency puts you in control. You know the cost, what’s included, and you can book with complete confidence.
Are there any hidden fees or extra charges?
No — never. Lucid Windows is built on complete transparency.

There are no call‑out fees, no “access charges”, no unexpected add‑ons, and no last‑minute changes.

Some homes fall outside standard pricing (large extensions, unusual glazing). First clean is at the listed price, then we confirm any adjustments for future visits.
Why are your prices fixed instead of “from £X” like other cleaners?
Because “from £X” pricing is vague and usually ends up costing more. Fixed pricing is clearer, fairer, and far more reassuring for customers.

With Lucid, every property type has a set, consistent price — no surprises.
6 or 12 weekly — what should I choose?
There’s no strict right or wrong — it depends on how quickly your windows get dirty and how perfect you like them to look.

A 6‑weekly clean is the most popular because it keeps everything looking consistently fresh with no noticeable build‑up. If you prefer your windows looking sharp all the time, this is the schedule that maintains that steady, always‑clean finish.

A 12‑weekly clean suits homes that stay cleaner for longer, or customers who enjoy that “cleaned for the first time again” feeling every visit. Because the gap is a bit longer, the difference is more noticeable — some people really like that reset effect.

You can start with either and switch at any time. The price is fixed, the service is the same, and you stay in full control of how often you want that freshly‑cleaned look.
How does your pricing compare to other window cleaners?
Most window cleaners work on a 4‑weekly schedule, which means three visits in a 12‑week period. Our system is built around fixed 6‑weekly and 12‑weekly cleaning — giving you two visits or one visit in the same timeframe, while still keeping your windows looking great.

Using our bungalow pricing as an example:
4‑weekly cleaner: ~£20 × 3 visits = £60 (12 weeks)
6‑weekly clean: £24 × 2 visits = £48 (12 weeks)
12‑weekly clean: £30 × 1 visit = £30 (12 weeks)

Even at the top end of our pricing:
5‑bed detached (4‑weekly): ~£20 × 3 visits = £60 (12 weeks)
5‑bed detached (6‑weekly): £34 × 2 visits = £68 (12 weeks)

Our pure‑water system stays effective over a slightly longer timeframe, meaning you don’t need unnecessary visits to maintain a clean, clear finish. You simply choose 6‑weekly or 12‑weekly — fewer visits, same premium results.

How do you price conservatories?
Our conservatory pricing is simple and transparent:

£8 for 6‑weekly customers
£12 for 12‑weekly customers

This includes up to 10 full‑height panels. Extra panels are just £1 each. Main access doors are always included and do not count towards the panel allowance.

For safety reasons, we do not clean conservatory roofs.

If you’re unsure, send a quick photo — we’ll count the panels and confirm the exact price before you book.

Cleaning & Methods
Awkward or hard‑to‑reach windows — why water‑fed pole?
Water‑fed pole keeps us safely on the ground and avoids damage to tiles, gutters, flowerbeds, and other parts of your property.

Pure water cleans glass, frames, and sills thoroughly, leaving a clear, streak‑free finish once dry.
Do you clean balconies and Juliet balconies?
Balconies are usually not accessible for us, as they can’t be reached safely from the ground with our equipment. We don’t climb onto balconies or work from them.

For glass‑panel Juliet balconies, we clean the outside of the glass panel only. We don’t clean the inside or the doors behind it.

For metal Juliet balconies, we can reach through the gaps with the brush and clean the outside as well as possible. Results vary depending on the design, but we always do the best we can from the ground.

If you’re unsure what type you have, feel free to send a quick photo and we’ll confirm what we can do.
Do you clean inside balconies?
We don’t clean the inside of balconies, as they can’t be reached safely from the ground with our equipment. We don’t climb onto balconies or work from them.

If your balcony has external glass panels that are visible from the ground, we may be able to clean the outside surface only. Feel free to send a quick photo and we’ll confirm what’s possible.
Can you clean Velux & Dormer windows?
Yes — we can clean Velux and Dormer windows as long as they are visible from the ground and reachable with our water‑fed poles.

Most Velux windows sit on a slope that allows us to reach them safely from below. Dormer windows are usually fine too, as long as they aren’t tucked behind a roof section or positioned where the pole

can’t angle correctly. If you’re unsure, feel free to send a quick photo — we’ll confirm whether they’re reachable and let you know the exact price before you book.
The environment — do we care?
Yes — pure water uses no chemicals, reduces waste, and is completely safe for pets, plants, and gardens.

Our vehicles are fully electric, meaning zero emissions at your home.
Do you clean in the rain?
Yes — rain doesn’t affect pure‑water cleaning. The results dry clear and streak‑free.

If weather becomes unsafe (high winds, storms), we postpone. Our 100% satisfaction guarantee always applies.
My home has large or unusual windows — what then?
If your home has larger‑than‑average windows, unusual glazing, or anything outside a standard layout, your first clean is always done at the listed price.

After that first visit, we’ll confirm any adjustments needed for future cleans — clearly, fairly, and only if required.

If you’d prefer the correct price upfront, you’re welcome to send a quick photo before booking. We’ll take a look and confirm everything in advance.
Access & Scheduling
Will it always be exactly six or twelve weeks between cleans?
Not always — weather, ferry delays, and island travel can shift things slightly.

You’ll always receive a text reminder the evening before your clean so you know we’re coming.
Can I choose a specific date and time?
We don’t offer exact appointment times, as our routes change daily based on weather, traffic and the most efficient way to cover each area. This keeps prices fair and consistent for everyone.

You’ll always receive a reminder message the day before your clean, and we’ll let you know if anything changes due to weather.

If you need to avoid certain days or have access requirements, just let us know — we’ll do our best to work around you where possible.
Do I need to be home?
No — as long as we can access the rear of your property, you don’t need to be home.

You’ll receive a reminder the evening before and a “We cleaned your windows today” card after the clean.
What if my gate is locked or you can’t access the rear?
Please make sure any gates are unlocked on the day so we can safely access the rear.

If we arrive and can’t get to the back due to a locked gate or blocked access, we’ll still carry out a front‑only clean.

Front‑only prices:
£18 for 6‑weekly customers
£23 for 12‑weekly customers

This keeps your regular cleaning schedule on track.
Can I request an extra clean?
Yes — availability varies depending on the week.

Contact us on 01983 77 00 70 or email info@lucidwindows.co.uk.
Payments
What payment methods do you accept?
Payment is due upon completion unless otherwise agreed.

We offer several easy ways to pay:

Direct Debit — automatic after each clean
Card payments — including Apple Pay & Google Pay
Bank transfer — please include your reference.
Cheque — payable to Lucid Windows
Cash — accepted on the day

You’ll also receive a “We cleaned your windows today” card with all payment details.
Why should I switch to Direct Debit?
Direct Debit is the smoothest and most convenient way to pay.

Payments are automatic, protected, and effortless — no reminders, no transfers, no missed payments.
How does GoCardless work?
You complete a short online form, your bank approves the mandate, and payments are taken automatically after each clean.

You receive an email notification every time a payment is processed.
Is Direct Debit safe?
Yes — GoCardless is FCA‑authorised and every payment is protected by the Direct Debit Guarantee.

If anything is ever wrong, refunds are immediate.
Do I have to sign a contract?
No — Direct Debit doesn’t lock you in.

You only pay for cleans you receive and you can cancel at any time.
Will I still know when payments are taken?
Yes — GoCardless emails you before and after each payment, so everything stays transparent and predictable.
